How does the insurance policy work?

The insurance policy covers employment-related claims arising after the commencement of the policy where your business has first sought HR advice from the Telephone Advisory Service.  The policy covers a range of claims including:

  • Unfair dismissal;
  • Unlawful termination;
  • Bullying; and
  • Discrimination.

The policy also covers claims for alleged underpayment of entitlements, as well as claims in breach of civil remedy provisions.

 

What does the policy cover my business for?

The insurance policy can cover your business for losses up to $2 million for any one loss and and $4 million in any one year.

Under the policy, loses are defined as the monetary amount the client is required to pay as a result of any of the following:

  • Damages;
  • Judgement;
  • Settlement;
  • Legal costs/expenses;
  • Defence costs; and
  • Investigation costs.

 

What is the excess on the insurance policy?

There is NO excess on the insurance policy that comes as part of your HR Assured package.

 

Will my premiums go up or my coverage change if I make a claim?

Unlike workers’ compensation insurance, where premiums vary on making a claim through the policy, we will not review or increase the cost of your HR Assured package if you make a claim.

 

How will HR Assured’s insurance assist my business?

You can sleep easy because you know that your business is covered in the event of a workplace relations claim and that we will handle the paperwork.
